In case you missed the memo, after 19 years with the band, Jim Lindberg decided to part ways with PENNYWISE. Despite the loss of such a key member, PENNYWISE released the following statement:

Pennywise has long stood behind the motto that you should always follow your heart and pursue what makes you happy, and we wish Jim the best of luck in his new ventures, whatever they may be. The band has always been about moving forward in life no matter what obstacles stand in front of you.

With a search immediately following for at least a temporary fill to prevent canceling any previously booked shows, PENNYWISE have found a stand-in in front-man of hardcore/punk band IGNITE, Zoli Teglas. Teglas’ appearances with PENNYWISE will include 2009’s Smokeout Festival at the San Manuel Ampitheatre in San Bernadino, CA. Smokeout Fest is happening on October 24th. PENNYWISE will be playing on a lineup that includes such acts as Slipknot, Deftones, Cypress Hill, Kottonmouth Kings, Bad Brains, Method Man/Red Man, a recently reunited Sublime (performing with their new singer, Rome) and many more.

Remaining members of PENNYWISE seem equally optimistic, not just about the shows that Teglas is filling in for, but also in their search for a new singer and their hopes to forge ahead with writing music and touring the world.
